Extended Stay Deluxe Columbia Harbison

This hotel was extremely convenient to us off the highway on our trip through Irmo. The room, however, was old, furniture was extremely worn and dirty. The most bothersome part of this hotel was the clientele. I felt as though the hotel was being used as low-income housing for all the minorities in the area. The room across from us had a huge crowd of African american kids packed into one room. The kids screamed all the time and the mom screamed at them in return. The crowd that hung in the parking lot all evening was extremely intimidating, to the point that I was afraid to send my husband out to the car to retrieve a pillow. Staff was very friendly. Thought it was odd I had to bring my used towels to front desk in order to receive new ones. I thought that's what housekeeping was for!

When I arrived at the hotel, I was told it was booked solid, and they moved me to another location 10 miles away. I told her I was from out of town, I was not familiar with the area and did not want to be moved. I told her my reservation was guaranteed. The desk clerk asked if I'd like to speak to the manager and I told her I would. She called the manager, and miraculously a room became available. The AC did not work and the room stunk. It was not Priceline's fault, but I would not want to stay at the Extended Stay hotel again. The hotel was not anywhere close to being full.
